Navalny’s wife urges West to spurn Russian election

Moscow | Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has asked the European Union to refuse to recognise Russia’s March presidential election – sharply escalating her campaign against Vladimir Putin.

Ms Navalnaya, who has accused the president of having her husband murdered, used a video message from abroad this week to call on supporters to oppose the Kremlin chief with greater fury than ever and free Russia from an elite of “bandits in uniform, thieves and murderers”.
