    The last time we heard from ex-NAB chief Andrew Thorburn, he was taking a year off, after 24 bruising hours as Essendon CEO.

    His short tenure followed a swift backlash to his affiliation with a socially traditional Christian church. And prompted the once-banking chief to ponder that his Christian faith was “not tolerated or permitted in the public square”.
