    Victorian senator David Van’s resignation from the Liberal Party was a case of jump or be pushed.

    The party had already “suspended all organisational resources and support”, and, just before Van quit late on Saturday afternoon, the Liberal Victorian Administrative Committee was about to hold an urgent meeting to “further consider the allegations raised”.
