I attended the Canberra rally on Sunday along with 15,000 other people (“Albanese calls crisis leaders’ meeting on male violence against women”). As I sat and listened to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese speak, I was struck by his inability to “read the room”.

Mr Albanese went on to list the changes his government had implemented before concluding that there is only so much the government can do and, ultimately, it is Australia’s culture that needs to change. Really? Let me say this to the prime minister: the tone and culture of any country, and company, is set at the top. Here are two things the government can do to change that.
