Star suitor Hard Rock knows a thing or two about the mass market

On Monday, Star confirmed reports in The Australian Financial Review that an affiliate of Hard Rock, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, had made an unsolicited proposal. While it is far from a formal takeover bid, Star shares surged 20 per cent.
