    Napier | The former airline executive tipped to become New Zealand’s next prime minister says he has drawn inspiration from Australian state governments and premiers to develop key election policies, including tapping private funds to bankroll a future infrastructure boom.

    Christopher Luxon, leader of the centre-right National Party, also said Australia’s decision to deport New Zealanders convicted of serious crimes back home had contributed to the country’s crime wave.
