HK leader refuses to back down on extradition laws

Shanghai | Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam has refused to resign or pull new laws which would allow criminals to be extradited to China, following the biggest mass protests in the city since the end of British rule.
Canberra has also raised concerns about the thousands of Australian accountants, lawyers and other business executives working in Hong Kong who could be subject to China's opaque legal system if the clients they work for fell foul of mainland authorities.
