Faced with overwhelming community distaste for the ever-increasing level of sports betting advertising, Australia’s legislators are gearing up to do something about it. The industry body for the nation’s online bookmakers, Responsible Wagering Australia, is being less-than-helpful.

At a parliamentary hearing earlier this month, RWA chairman Nick Minchin was grilled by committee chair Peta Murphy on why the industry hasn’t yet proposed a solution to what even it admits are widespread community concerns.
