    Landscape architect Jack Merlo has sold his grand Toorak pile to hotelier Robert Zagame in a $17.5 million sale showing the top end of the housing market remains buoyant even as auction clearance rates in the mass market soften.

    A caveat over the 1034-square-metre property at 46 Heyington Place links it to Mr Zagame, who with brother Victor runs the Zagame Corporation founded by their late father Victor.
