Tenant portal Equiem will expand into 157 buildings across the UK including London’s flagship office towers The Shard and The Gherkin after the Melbourne-founded company acquired the software platform of FTSE-listed British Land for an undisclosed sum.

British Land, which owns or manages a £13.7 billion ($24.5 billion) portfolio of office, retail and mixed-use assets, will take a stake thought to be between 5 per cent and 10 per cent in Equiem as part payment for the Vicinitee platform, joining existing shareholders including co-founder Lorenz Grollo and the Rich List Tarascio family, Aconex founders Leigh Jasper and Rob Philpott, and institutional investor Perennial & Regal.
