WA premier says his government must go in to bat for big miners

West Australian Premier Roger Cook says his government must go in to bat for big miners more than other states in the face of federal regulatory and legislative reforms.

Mr Cook said the state needed to assert to the rest of the country the role that the resources sector played in upholding both the WA and national economies.
