    Australian politicians should be trained on how to identify Chinese Communist Party front groups and blacklist community events they host, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) says, amid concerns they are covering up human rights violations in Xinjiang province.

    A report by the institute says the Communist Party’s United Front department is trying to cultivate and co-opt groups representing the Uighur diaspora in Australia and other countries, claiming to represent Xinjiang and speak on behalf of the community.
