    States claimed everything from new mines in Western Australia to the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games were under threat after the Albanese government trimmed $7.4 billion in federal money from their laundry list of road, rail and bridge projects.

    West Australian Premier Roger Cook blamed “east coast mismanagement” for the need to address billions of dollars in project blowouts and Queensland Treasurer Cameron Dick called on the feds to treat his state “more like Qantas and less like Qatar”, as the Labor leaders fell to bickering about who deserved federal funding more.
