Teal backers fear how-to-vote cards could confuse voters

Volunteers for teal candidates are giving supporters detailed instructions on how to fill in their ballot for Saturday’s federal election, amid concerns that how-to-vote cards for key independents could be misleading.
Candidates including Monique Ryan in Kooyong, Georgia Steele in Hughes, Nicolette Boele in Bradfield and Kate Hook in Calare have opted not to direct voters on how to allocate their preferences through campaign materials distributed at polling locations, leaving them to decide the order of allocation.
