    For obvious reasons, not least the proximity of the next election, next week’s federal budget will be an important event for the Albanese government.

    The big political picture will be a composite of the Future Made in Australia Act, the delivery of a second successive surplus, the cost-of-living focus and the economic outlook, much of which has already been rolled out or forecast.
