    Rush to high-tech services

Australians are expected to follow the US market by enthusiastically adopting Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line services once these are widely available later this year according to researchers, The Yankee Group. By 2003, the number of Australians using such services which allow for high-speed data transmission over ordinary phone lines that have been modified to allow ADSL traffic is expected to reach 720,000, up from just 1,000 in 1999.
