    One of the big players in Australia's fragmented $200 million egg market, Farm Pride Foods Ltd, yesterday forecast it would play a significant role in rationalising the State-based industry within the next 12 months.

    The chairman of the Victorian-based egg marketer and processor, Mr David Williams, said pressure for rationalisation was likely to increase from national supermarket chains who preferred dealing with national brands and with suppliers who could guarantee uniform quality control standards.
