    No matter what targets were set in the federal government’s delayed New Vehicle Efficiency Standard, the local automotive industry was always going to call them “ambitious” and express deep concern that they may affect people’s ability to “access the style of vehicle that suits their needs for work and recreation”.

    That’s exactly what the industry’s peak body, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industry, did – and within moments of Sunday’s NVES announcement.
