    A surge in black coal generation in NSW and a fresh warning of possible power shortages has increased pressure on Origin Energy and the Minns government to delay closing Australia’s largest power station, Eraring.

    Black coal generation increased by 6 per cent in NSW in the March quarter due to higher summer demand, despite the closure of AGL Energy’s Liddell power station in April last year.
