    Woodside Petroleum chief executive Peter Coleman's very public attack on coal's carbon credentials last week in Paris has left politicians and industry executives fuming, with shadow resources minister Gary Gray labelling it "not wise".

    In his address at the high-profile World Gas Conference, Mr Coleman scorned the "clean coal" moniker, and said the gas industry had been "too timid to aggressively address the shortcomings of coal", which he blamed for "staggering" problems of smog in cities in China and India.
