EnergyAustralia to shut Melbourne call centre, 300 job losses on Manila shift

EnergyAustralia is set to close one of its three call centres with the loss of up to 300 jobs and shift functions instead to the Philippines as it seeks further gains in efficiency and costs to improve business performance.
The electricity and gas supplier, owned by Hong Kong-listed CLP Group, advised staff on Thursday that it would close its site at Mill Park in Melbourne's outer suburbs next September.
