    Wrong way, go back. It took far too long for Qantas to recognise it had no choice but to stop fighting the regulator over what became known as “ghost flights”.

    Now that it has accepted reality, chief executive Vanessa Hudson can call the agreement “another important step forward in restoring confidence in the national carrier”.
