Old taxis will be pulled off the road by the company which operates the 13Cabs brand and the Cabcharge taxi payments processing system, as it fights against the slicker digital sizzle of ride-sharing services such as Uber and Taxify.
Chief executive Andrew Skelton on Thursday said that from January 1 he will be enforcing a six-year-old age limit across the 9963 taxis which are part of the affiliated fleet at Cabcharge, which is changing its name to A2B Ltd after a vote by shareholders at the annual meeting.
