    A three-storey Chanel palace will anchor a major redevelopment of the historic former David Jones menswear site in the Sydney CBD as Scentre, the country’s largest shopping mall landlord, banks on insatiable appetite for luxury goods to lure visitors.

    Better known for its sprawling suburban Westfield malls, Scentre has been working on the redevelopment of the former department store since it acquired the site with its superannuation fund partner, Cbus Property, in 2016 for $360 million. Cbus Property, for its part, is developing apartments above the property.
