London Anthony O’Reilly was not among the long-suffering Independent News & Media shareholders who filed into The Conrad Hotel in central Dublin a couple of weeks ago.

Once a larger-than-life presence in Ireland, the former IN&M chief executive, 78, now lives in the Bahamas. He is happy to keep a low profile these days. Or at least that is the idea.
