    More than a quarter of financial advisers will not be able to provide advice to retail clients if their licensees fail to send critical paperwork to the investment regulator by February 16.

    The Australian Securities and Investments Commission said it would extend the deadline for financial advisers to be registered with ASIC, as it was due to expire on February 1.
