    The rapid-fire success of Project Atlas has transformed Ian Davies into something of a pin-up boy for the tight community of gas adventurers who have been brought into orbit around Queensland’s coal fields by the east coast gas crisis.

    Davis is the chief executive of Senex Energy, which on Tuesday delivered first gas from a conditional petroleum lease that was granted to the company by Queensland’s often rational government just 18 months ago.
