    Energy producers and users have again voiced support for the National Energy Guarantee to provide a long-term framework for investment in new supply that would cross over the political divide after former deputy Liberal leader Julie Bishop urged the Morrison government to put the policy back on the table.

    "We do think it's good policy, we think it's sensible policy," said Jeff Dimery, chief executive of fast-growing east coast electricity retailer Alinta Energy.
