    Retailer Country Road will pay its former chief executive John Cheston $1.1 million, a fraction of the $6.5 million he was suing the company for in the Federal Court of Australia over his hiring and dismissal. Mr Cheston was fired after 10 weeks in the top job. Country Road said the settlement is conditional upon appropriate approvals being obtained. Carrie LaFrenz

    Geothermal outfit Petratherm warned work at its Paralana project site had been delayed by at least four weeks after heavy rainfall in the region delayed the deployment of equipment. The company expects the equipment will be mobilised by early May.
