    Australia's biggest gold producer Newcrest is the latest miner to strike regulatory turbulence in Indonesia with the host government raising issues about the level of Indonesian ownership in the Gosowong mine and the fiscal regime under which the mine operates.

    The Indonesian government's decision to block Newcrest's 2018 work and spending plan for Gosowong came as the company's most important mine, Cadia, showed signs it was getting its mojo back after a seismic event in early 2017.
